Deleting documents

Deleting documents removes them from the SharePoint library. This requires that you have the appropriate privilege in the source vault.

Warning    Unlike deleting documents from a normal SharePoint library, deleting documents with a BlueCielo web part does not move the documents to the SharePoint Recycle Bin from which they may be restored. The command name in SharePoint is different depending on the source vault, Meridian Enterprise or ImandrA. The result is also different.

The following table summarizes the differences between the source vault types.

The document is deleted from the vault and may be undeleted as usual as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise User's Guide.

ImandrA

Move to Recycle Bin

The document is moved to the ImandrA vault's Recycle Bin where it can be restored by a system administrator.

To delete a document:

  1. Open the SharePoint library that contains the document that you want to delete.
  2. Point to the name of the document that you want to delete until the down arrow appears, click the down arrow, and select Delete or Move to Recycle Bin, whichever appears. The document is deleted immediately without confirmation.
